Edward Mitchell Bannister (urodzony 2 listopada 1828 w St. Andrews w Kanadzie, zmarł 9 stycznia 1901 w Rhode Island w Stanach Zjednoczonych) był kanadyjsko-amerykańskim malarzem olejnym. Reklamował się jako portrecista, ale później stał się popularny dzięki swoim pejzażom i pejzażom morskim. Czerpiąc ze swojej wiedzy z zakresu poezji, klasyki i literatury angielskiej, jako samouk malował także sceny biblijne, mitologiczne i rodzajowe.
