Charles-Joseph Natoire (1700–1777) był wybitnym francuskim artystą okresu rokoko, znanym ze swoich eleganckich i dekoracyjnych obrazów oraz umiejętności malarstwa freskowego. Urodzony w Nîmes, kształcił się w Académie Royale de peinture et de rzeźba w Paryżu i zdobył prestiżową nagrodę Prix de Rome w 1721 roku, co zaowocowało studiami we Włoszech.
